Canadian National Vimy Memorial

The Spirit of Sacrifice, a detail of the ‪Canadian National Vimy Memorial‬ dedicated to the memory of Canadian Expeditionary Force members killed in World War one.

The monument is situated at a 100 hectare preserved battlefield with wartime tunnels, trenches, craters and unexploded munitions. The memorial designed by Walter Seymour Allward opened in 1936.
